SONGS of JAY, and OTHERS
Here and there Jay has explored songwriting with several of his friends as co-writers, songs Jay would describe as love songs, in an adult contemporary style.
The closest Jay has been to fame with an original song is this: the powerful adult contemporary ballad "Lonely," co-written and co-produced with friend Jim Simos in 1986. Legendary Detroit radio personality Alan Almond (then on WMJC-FM, now back on WNIC-FM Detroit) put this song on his "Candlelight" show of love songs, every night, for nearly a month in January - February 1987. This was 20 years ago this month! This was the closest Jay and Jim got to doing something spectacular with their music, and the closest Jay got to "pop stardom," if that's what you want to call it ... at least on a local level in Metro Detroit. If any of you out there remember hearing this song, please e-mail Jay today with your memories! Watch this space soon for an mp3 of that song from early 1987 on Detroit radio.
Someday there will be an avenue for Jay's original music ... that's one of the beauties of the internet in this day and age. Someday Jay will write worship music for church.
Another thing Jay likes to do is doodle on the piano, creating "George Winston-sounding" pieces. This could turn into a future CD project, who knows?
